Bike Hire Kielder
Big News! We will be providing a bike hire facility at Landal Kielder Waterside Park from 01/05/23. Bike hire is open to all members of the public and guests of the holiday park too. The location is incredible, with our new venue being right on the lakeside way. The Iconic Kielder landscape is perfect for a weekend escape. There are hundreds of kilometres of lakeside, forest and moorland riding, as well as the Kielder MTB trails to tackle too.
The waterside bike hire facility all fits in to Bike4Health’s bigger picture – revenue from our commercial work (like the new hire facility & the workshop) supports our staff and organisation, allowing us to carry out community focused work and supporting community events. And it’s quite literally getting #morepeopleonbikes!

Bikeability
Bike4Health became an official Bikeability provider with our first full time guide, Jo, passing her Bikeability qualifications in February. We’re really excited to be part of the bikeability family and welcomed Bikeability CEO Emily Cherry to some of our partner schools and the workshop for a tour.
Bikeability is all about providing National Standard cycle training for children, adults & families so they have the confidence to get out there and get cycling! Emily was impressed with the cycling offered by Bike4Health schools across the North East, and we can’t wait to deliver more Bikeability to help get people cycling across our region!

Bike Hire Kielder – Customer Services
We’re on the lookout for staff for Bike Hire Kielder @ the Landal Kielder Waterside site. This is a customer facing role so good customer service skills are essential. Being passionate about cycling and wanting to work with the public is core to this role. Bike mechanic skills are preferred at some level, but not essential – we can provide training. Kielder is a remote site, so commuting will be required if you do not live close by. We would love to support local employment opportunities and build a local B4H team in the area.
Cycling Ride Leaders, Coaches and Bikeability Instructors
We’re always on the lookout for ride leaders, coaches and now Bikeability instructors as our network of schools and organisations we carry out cycling for continues to grow. This could be on a self-employed, part time or full-time basis.
You would be delivering cycling activities including coaching and skills sessions, guided rides and more. You would be working with all kinds of different groups, from children to adults, and people with a wide range of cycling experience from teaching children to ride, through to adults who can cycle confidently.
Workshop Mechanic
Our cycling operations are continuing to expand so we’re on the lookout for a new skilled mechanic to support our work.
We are looking for a positive, engaging, hardworking and passionate bike mechanic to join our existing highly skilled and qualified workshop team. This is a customer facing role where quality customer service is essential.
You could already be a bike mechanic looking for a progressive and professional employer committed to investment in training and development and looking for that next step in your career.
Or, you may be wanting to start in the bike industry and are someone who can demonstrate the necessary technical capacity, drive, passion and commitment to learn and develop through an apprenticeship structure.
