Welcome to the team Taylor and Pat!
You may have noticed some new faces if you have been in the shop recently. This year two new colleagues joined us at our Bike4Health Workshop in Benton.
Firstly, Taylor joined us in February. He’s joined us as an apprentice and will be learning all about the art of bike maintenance from Artur Lukasz and Mario. He’ll be working towards his Cytech 1 qualification initially but we don’t think it will be long until he is progressing to level 2 and specialising even further! We’re also testing him weekly on his Polish skills to make sure he fits seamlessly into the mechanics team….
Taylor is a keen mountain biker and rides an XC Cube as well as his new Cube Stereo 170 29er. He’s been enjoying being able to get out further and explore new sites with the rest of the team on Sunday Group Rides!
Pat joined us at the start of May and is our Front Desk Manager. He’ll be the smiling face you see when you come to our workshop or speak to on the phone! He brings his customer service experience from working in bike shops and the Tyneside cinema.
He’s a keen roadie and happier on skinnier wheels then wide ones! He’s often seen out on Sunday rides with the MCC on his Giant TCR and dabbles in the occasional time trial here and there. We’ve no doubt we’ll get him onto some singletrack soon enough.
Both have settled in great so far and are a great addition to our workshop team. Remember to say hello next time you’re in!
