Yes that is correct we are moving Bike4Health’s grand HQ and Workshop to a new location.

We are moving to a much larger and more modern business unit on North Tyne Industrial Estate, Benton in North Tyneside, accessed just off Whitley Road or A191.

It’s easy access from the A19, Coast Road or heading out of Newcastle City Centre. And a short walk to Palmersville Metro Station.

It’s right opposite The Rising Sun Country Park, which is handy, and accessed from the main junction opposite ASDA Benton.

We deliberately haven’t got a definite date for moving workshop operations as yet because we are fitting out the new premises so we can move the workshop with the minimum of downtime. Our target date is early/mid October. We will of course publicise a date as we firm timelines up so please keep an eye on our social media and signup to our mailing list by clicking on the image below.

It’s coming up on 2 years since we moved to Kirkley and whilst it is a lovely location what we have come to realise, other than we need more space, is that the vast majority of our lovely workshop customers tend to live and work in the more urban areas of Newcastle, Gateshead, North Tyneside and South East Northumberland so are better served from the centre rather than the periphery.

Furthermore, most of our cycling activity work is with schools, groups, businesses and organisations which are concentrated in North Tyneside and South East Northumberland from Coast to City. So it makes sense for our logistics to be based where the action is!

Finally, we had hoped to develop cycling activity at the base in Kirkley but that has not happened for lots or reasons and in the meantime our relationships with North Tyneside Council, Gateshead Council and organisations such as Forestry England and NHS have flourished giving us access and use of multiple sites from local country parks such as The Rising Sun to Chopwell Woods, Hamsterley Forest and Kielder Water Forest Park for adventures further afield.

Whilst 2020 continues to be an exceptional and challenging year for everyone we believe that our decision to move is the right one which will enable us to serve and support more people cycling in whatever form that takes; sport, leisure, active travel, adventure or just plain old fun!

We look forward to getting established in our new premises and welcoming you the next time you need our help.

Thank you for your support, ride safe and #bebikehappy
